RIKO plans, trial and upgrading

What Essentials, Booking and Pro each include, how the free trial works, how to upgrade or change plan, and what happens when a trial ends or a payment fails.

This article lists what each RIKO plan unlocks, explains the free trial, shows how to upgrade or change plan from the Plans & Upgrade page, and describes what happens to your dashboard and widget when a trial expires or a payment fails.

The three plans

RIKO has three plans, billed monthly in Australian dollars.

Which dashboard tabs each plan unlocks

Tabs your plan does not include stay visible in the sidebar with a padlock and open the Plans & Upgrade page when clicked.

The free trial

Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial with a card on file: at signup you go straight to a secure Stripe checkout where you pick a plan and your card is saved. The first charge happens only when the trial ends, and you can cancel before then from the billing page. Signing up with a valid referral code extends the trial to 30 days.

Once checkout is complete, the plan you chose is active immediately, so you can use its tabs and features throughout the trial. About three days before the trial ends, RIKO emails you a reminder with the date and the amount that will be charged.

If you did not finish checkout

If you created an account but left the Stripe checkout page before saving a card, your account stays on the trial without a plan. The dashboard shows the same tabs as the Essentials plan and a banner at the top counts down the days remaining ("Free trial - 9 days remaining. Upgrade anytime to keep access."), and the Embed tab is covered by a Complete your billing setup panel until a card is added.

When that trial runs out, the dashboard locks and shows Your free trial has ended with buttons for Essentials - $49/mo, Booking - $99/mo and Pro - $149/mo. Choosing one opens checkout; any discount already on your account is applied automatically. Your widget keeps running on your website while the dashboard is locked, so visitors are not affected.

How to upgrade or change plan

  1. In the RIKO dashboard, click View plans & upgrade on the Home tab (or the upgrade button in the header). This opens the Plans & Upgrade page, which shows your Current plan.
  2. Click Choose Essentials, Choose Booking or Choose Pro.
  3. If you do not yet have a subscription, you are taken to Stripe Checkout to confirm.

If you already have a subscription, plan changes, your card, invoices and cancellation are handled on the billing page rather than through checkout, so you never end up with two subscriptions. Open it from Already subscribed? Go to billing at the bottom of the Plans & Upgrade page, or go to /app/billing. Full details: Billing and subscriptions.

If your account has more than one website, the note on the Plans & Upgrade page reminds you that the new plan's pricing applies to the websites connected to your account.

Discounts

Extra websites on the same account get 30% off. An account owner who buys two or more Rapid Intelligence products gets 15% off. Only one discount applies to a subscription; they are never stacked automatically.

When a payment fails

If a monthly payment fails, a red banner appears at the top of the dashboard: Payment failed - your widget is offline until your invoice is paid. While it is showing, your widget answers every visitor with "This assistant is temporarily offline. Please contact [your business] directly for assistance." Click Update payment on the banner to open the Stripe portal and fix the card. As soon as the invoice is paid, the widget comes back on its own with no further action.

A similar banner, No payment method on file - your widget is offline until billing is set up, appears if a paid plan has no subscription behind it. Click Set up billing to go to checkout.

RISE

The Plans & Upgrade page also shows RISE, the social media automation product. RISE is in final testing and cannot be purchased yet; the cards are shown so you can see what is coming.
